Nancy R. Samuelson

Nancy R. Samuelson, 83, of Bradenton, Florida and formerly of Jamestown, NY, passed away peacefully into eternal rest with her Saviour on Feb. 27, 2026 in Tidewell Hospice House, Bradenton, Florida.

Nancy was born in Jamestown, NY on June 19, 1942, the daughter of Paul R. Samuelson Sr and Jean Alberta Park Samuelson.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Jean Samuelson on Dec. 7, 1972, her father, Paul Samuelson on June 14, 1979, her older sister, Ellen Jean Saxton on Nov. 9, 1986 and a nephew, Todd Saxton on Dec. 31, 2024.

Nancy was a member of Jamestown High School Class of 1960. Prior to moving to Florida in 1987, Nancy was employed as a floral designer at the former Girtons Flowers and at the former Nelson and Butts Flower Shop, both in Jamestown. While in Florida, Nancy was employed as a Claims Adjuster at FCCI from May, 1992 through July, 2004.

Nancy thoroughly enjoyed the single retirement life having traveled extensively throughout the United States including Alaska and Hawaii and many countries in Europe. She traveled recently to all of Scandinavia including Sweden and Norway, the countries of her heritage. She often traveled with her sister Linda Hepler but frequently traveled solo. Nancy also enjoyed playing June’s Journey online with her online JJ Family. She often would go out to dinner with “The Divas” from the park where she resided. During her retirement years, Nancy volunteered as a poll worker for many elections in Florida. She also dedicated her time to the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, where she was known for stepping in to help wherever she was needed.

As in life, so in death, Nancy faced the challenges of a sudden terminal illness with courage, and looked forward to being reunited with her mother whom she greatly missed.

Survivors include daughter, Natalie Camarata (Paul) of Centreville, VA; grandson, Michael Camarata of Fairfax, VA; granddaughter, Jessica Camarata of Wilmington NC; sister, Linda Hepler and brother, Paul Samuelson (Debbie) of Jamestown, NY; and nieces and nephews: Trevor Hepler (Carla), Tara Chase, Matthew Hepler (Thom), David Saxton, Melissa Saxton, Michael Saxton and Michelle (Joseph) Battaglia. Nancy is also survived by her devoted friends Sandy and Bob Baker of Sarasota, Florida who “adopted” Nancy into their family and were of utmost support to her and her family during Nancy’s short terminal illness.

Nancy will be buried with her mother in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Jamestown. A private family celebration of life is planned for later this summer.

The family suggests memorials be made in her memory to Tidewell Hospice House, 2504 34th Ave W, Bradenton, Florida 34205 or to a local animal shelter of choice.
