Matthew W. McAdoo

Matthew W. McAdoo, 60, of Jamestown, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday March 8, 2026, in UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, PA, following a long and courageous battle with several health conditions over many years.

A Jamestown resident all his life, he was born Sept. 23, 1965, a son of Alice Smith McAdoo and the late William McAdoo.

Following graduation from Jamestown High School in 1983, he worked for Upstate Milk and later for Empire Specialty Cheese as plant manager.

He formerly attended Niobe Baptist Church, was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills and well known for his craftmanship with leather.

Matt will be remembered as a great man who was very personable and had a great smile. As a husband, he loved his wife above all else and was a father who instilled values of hard work and integrity in both of his sons

Surviving is his wife Tricia Sheldon McAdoo, whom he married September 5, 1987 and who was his primary caregiver at home during his long term illness; two sons Adam (Andrea) McAdoo of Ellery Center and Cody (Emily) McAdoo of Jamestown; grandchildren Samuel, Charlotte and Julia McAdoo; his mother Alice McAdoo of Jamestown; two sisters Kim (Chris) Furlow of Panama and Kellie (Dave) Feather of Jamestown; brother Michael (Shannon) McAdoo of Florida and his furry constant companion Nutmeg to whom he was especially close.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by a brother Mark McAdoo and his in-laws Richard and Leona Sheldon with whom he shared a special relationship.

The funeral will be at 4 pm Friday in the Lind Funeral Home, where friends will be received from 2-4 pm Friday, just prior to the service. Pastor Jeremy Maslin will officiate.
