Janet B. Jablonski

Janet B. Jablonski, 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at UPMC Chautauqua in Jamestown, N.Y. She was born in Batavia, N.Y. to Frank and Harriet Miller, and was a lifelong Batavia resident until moving to Brookdale Senior Living in Lakewood, N.Y. in 2024.

Janet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was the cherished wife of the late John Jablonski, to whom she was married for 64 years. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church (Ascension) and, with her husband, a long-standing member of Terry Hills Golf Club.

“Mrs. J” was a long-time employee of Batavia Public Schools, working in the main and attendance offices of Batavia Junior High School and Jackson School. She cherished her close Jackson School friends.

Janet was a dedicated member of the Polish Falcons of America, participating in annual regional and national bowling and golf tournaments and other activities. Janet was an accomplished bowler, competing in area leagues and regional tournaments for decades. Her proudest bowling accomplishment was winning a bronze medal at the New York Empire State Senior Games. Janet was an enthusiastic supporter of Batavia Blue Devils football and a big NFL fan.

She loved music and sang in the St. Joseph’s choir, Sacred Heart choir, and Sweet Adelines.

Janet and John enjoyed five decades of vacationing and summers at their Chautauqua Lake cottage, where she prepared picnics for family and friends and made wonderful memories for all. Janet and John loved to socialize. After retirement, through winters at Myrtle Beach and summers at the lake, they made many special additions to their group of lifelong friends.

In her final years, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and backyard birds brought the most joy to her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, who passed away in 2019. She is survived by her brother, Frank (Carolyn) Miller of Silver Springs, N.Y.; sons, John (Carol) Jablonski III of Lakewood, N.Y. and Steven (Gaye) Jablonski of Malvern, Pa.; grandchildren, Jenna Jablonski, Julia Jablonski, Jillian (Thomas) Walsh, John Steven “Jack” Jablonski, and Jay Cutting “Cutter” Jablonski; and greatgrandchildren Bella and Skye Walsh.

Janet’s family extends special thanks to the staff of Brookdale and Best Care Coordinators for the compassionate care and support they provided.
