Harry A. Silvis IV

Harry A. Silvis IV, 57, of Jamestown NY, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Corry Manor, Corry, PA. He was the beloved husband of Barbara Silvis of Bemus Point, NY.

Harry ‘Art’ worked as a laborer in the shipping department at Hopes Windows in Falconer, NY until his retirement due to ill health. He was an avid NASCAR fan with Jeff Gordon being his favorite driver. He also loved watching wrestling four nights a week and was a die-hard San Francisco 49ers fan. Art shot pool on numerous leagues in the Jamestown area for a number of years.

He loved spending time with his beloved dogs, Chevy and Princess, along with family and especially the lunch dates with his grandchildren were the highlight of his day.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry A. Silvis III and Judy L. Ross- Silvis; paternal grandparents, Eleanore Apthorp-Silvis and Harry A. Silvis II; maternal grandparents, Roger and Gladys Clark-Ross; beloved niece, Maria L. Schroder along with numerous aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Barbara Silvis of Bemus Point, NY; sister, Jennifer (Charles Nelson) Silvis of Warren, PA; children: Brent Thomson of Corry, PA; Sean Carlson of Masontown, PA; Desirea (Fred) Heller of Jamestown, NY; Steven (Kelly Stingel) Cochran of North Port, Florida; Levi Cochran of Jamestown, NY; and Aaron Cochran of Bemus Point, NY.

He is further survived by his mother-in-law, Marcia Hamilton of Jamestown, NY; father-in-law, Daniel (Karen) Schroder Sr of Sinclairville, NY; sister-in-law, Jamie (William) King of Ashville, NY; and two brothers-in-law, Daniel Schroder Jr and Robert Schroder both of Jamestown, NY.

Harry was also survived by 10 grandchildren and three great-granddaughters and numerous nieces, great nieces and nephews, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

Per his final wishes, there will be no services at this time.

In lieu of services, there will be a celebration of life on Aug. 8, 2026, at Mead Park, 945 Mead Ave, Corry, PA 16407 starting at 12 pm.

There will also be a benefit and pool tournament in his memory on April 12, 2026, at the Celeron Legion Post 777, 26 Jackson Ave, Jamestown, NY 14701 beginning at 12 pm.
