Harold “Harry” Lent, Jr

Harold “Harry” Lent Jr., 82, of Jamestown, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2026. He was born in Jamestown on April 3, 1943, the son of the late Harold F. Lent, Sr. and Vivian Cecil Smith Lent.

Harry married Joan K. Lundberg on May 11, 1963, at Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Jamestown. A passionate musician, he played percussion throughout his life, performing professionally with local musicians across Western New York. He enjoyed a fifty-year career as a manufacturing engineering professional in the hardware, automotive and medical device industries, and was a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. Harry also served his community as an elected Town Board Councilman for the Town of Ellicott and was an active member of the Sons of the American Revolution and an avid family historian and genealogist.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joan K. Lent; three sons, Jeffrey (Isabelle) Lent of Senoia, GA, Douglas (Jaia) Lent of Sykesville, MD, and Christopher (Stephanie) Lent of Jamestown; and six grandchildren: Ian, Taegan, Grail, Madilyn, Audrina and Kendyl.

In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Kay Rickard and Terry Lent.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 30th in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Marcin Parada will officiate, and burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. for 2 hours prior to the service Monday.
