George L. Aldrich
George L. Aldrich, 80, of Jamestown, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at UPMC Chautauqua, after a brief, but courageous battle with lung cancer.
George was born in Painesville, Ohio, on Feb. 20, 1946, a son of the late Melvin Aldrich and the late Betty (Drake, Aldrich) Durfee.
He attended schools in Bay City, MI, before working for Gooding Amusements, and then settling in Jamestown, N.Y., where he worked at Jamestown Malleable Iron and Chautauqua Hardware.
George is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Aldrich and his son, Austin, and Randy Aldrich and his children: Christopher, Jason, Heather and Angelica; and by two brothers, Lynn Drake and Jr. Drake; and two sisters, Elizabeth and Sylvia; several nieces and nephews in Ohio; and his beloved long-time companion, Becky Smith.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy, Judy, Mary and Donna.
Per Mr. Aldrich’s wishes, there will be no viewing or services.
