Christy E. “Chris” Palermo Jr.
Christy E. “Chris” Palermo Jr., 70, of Rock Hill, SC, formerly of Falconer and Jamestown passed away unexpectedly Monday (March 2, 2026) in his home.
He was born Oct. 14, 1955 in Jamestown, the son of the late Christy E. and Nina S. Paolillo Palermo.
Chris was a graduate of Falconer High School. He was a lifelong auto mechanic. In earlier years Chris was employed by Ricotta’s Service Station in Falconer. He then became a small business owner for more than 20 years owning Palermo’s Service Center. Following the sale of his business, he moved to Myrtle Beach, SC where he worked and retired from Beach Ford. In retirement he moved to Rock Hill, SC to be closer to his grandchildren. His hobby in retirement was rebuilding and restoring old trucks with his son.
Surviving is his wife Kathleen P. McDermott Palermo whom he married Aug. 2, 1975 in the former Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church, Falconer; two children: Angelina (David) Spitzer of Jamestown, Jason Palermo of Fort Mill, SC; three grandchildren: Meghan A. Howard, Anthony N. Palermo, Nova R. Palermo; a brother Michael (Cosie) Palermo of Jamestown; three sisters: Marie (Dan) Moomey of Jamestown, Kathleen (Ronald) DeSantis of Jamestown, Nina (Alan) Gustafson of Falconer, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Christy and Nina Palermo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday (March 14, 2026) in St. John’s Catholic Church. Rev. Paul Cygan will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
