Barbara A. Gustafson

Barbara A. Gustafson, 97, of Bergquist Assisted Living, Gerry, formerly of Falconer passed away Saturday, March 21, 2026 in Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing.

Born in Jamestown on Sept. 15, 1928, she is the daughter of Chester and Genevieve Hine Peterson.

Barb, a lifelong resident of the area, was a 1946 graduate of Falconer High School. She was a long time member of the Falconer United Methodist Church. In her earlier years she was employed by American Manufacturing Co, Falconer State Theater, and Steel Partitions before dedicating herself to her family and home. She loved to spend her days outside working in her yard.

She married M. Roy Gustafson on Aug. 19, 1951 in Falconer. They enjoyed 61 years together traveling the country and spending time with their family. Even after Roy’s passing in 2012, Barb loved nothing more than being surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving are her daughter, Cheryl ( Jim) Jacobson of Vernon, NY; her son, Jeffrey (Kimberly) Gustafson of Jamestown; four grandchildren: Cara (David) LaVine, Kristen (Michael) Roper, Andrew (Sandra Enriquez) Gustafson, Katelyn (Dustin) Truver; and great-grandchildren: Tyler LaVine, Luke Roper, Emmett Roper, Nolan Roper, Nathanial Truver, Nolan Truver, and Leah Truver.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, M. Roy Gustafson, who died in 2012; and a brother and sister-in-law, Quentin and Carol Peterson.

A private funeral service will be held in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Michael Childs will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Falconer United Methodist Church or an organization of your choice.
