Richard Allan Nowell Sr.

Richard was born on July 8,1940 to the late Charles Nowell and Jean Staples Nowell.

He graduated Panama Central School in 1958 and proudly served in the United States Air Force from January 1961 to January 1965 as a Titan, 1 ICBM mechanic.

Prior to retirement, Richard was employed by the South and Center Chautauqua Lake Sewer District and Carborundum Manufacturing Company.

An accomplished musician, Richard loved singing and playing the guitar, performing at local establishments and performing for his friends and family gatherings. He also enjoyed time in the woods while deer hunting and was a fan of the Buffalo Bills and Nascar. Richard was a member of the War Vets Recreation Club.

Richard is survived by seven children: Cynthia McIntire (Michael) of The Villages, Florida, Richard Nowell Jr (Takako) of Ashville, NY, Steven Nowell (Tess) of Jamestown, NY, Susan Thomas, of Jamestown, NY, Dana Nowell of Frewsburg, NY, Cory Nowell of Jamestown, NY and Melissa Nowell (Louis) of Cleveland Ohio. as well as 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Cheryl (Robert) Lawson and Diane (Tom) Casler both of Jamestown, NY.

He is preceded in death by a son, Timothy Brian Nowell (July 2022), and his granddaughter, Amy Ellen Nowell (March 2021).

A memorial service will be held at 5 pm Thursday March 19, 2026, in the Lind Funeral Home where friends will be received for one hour prior to the service.
