Phyllis Schenck Jordan

Phyllis Schenck Jordan

Phyllis Schenck Jordan peacefully accepted God’s outstretched arms on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026.

Born on Sept. 17, 1935, Phyllis lived a full and vibrant life defined by devotion to her family, a tireless work ethic, and a spirited love of fun. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Laura Cornish Schenck, her beloved husband, Dick; her brothers, Bob, Albert, Junie, Ronnie, and Kenny; and her sisters, Dorie, Helen, and Dorothy. She is survived by her sister, Pauline Schenck Girts.

Phyllis was the loving mother of Jeff “Toby” (Becky) Jordan, Jolene (Michael) Lowry, Jill (Fred) Willett and close family friend, Sherry Martin. Her greatest joy was being “Grandma” to her six grandchildren: Jaimee (Andy) Knight, Jodee (Chris) McGuire, Jenna (Nick) Thomas, Hope (Matt) Wearing, Nick (Audra Ragan) Lowry, and Sami (Alex) Hajduk. She was also blessed with five wonderful great-granddaughters: Emma and Alivia Knight, Madison McGuire, and Nora and Naomi Thomas.

Phyllis worked hard all her life while raising her fabulous children. After retiring from Associated Springs (Raymonds/Barnes Group), she continued working at various places–including Stateline Beer Tent, Holiday Inn Express Breakfast Bar, Sugar Bowl Lanes, Kwik Fill Deli and others-too numerous to list. She even worked at Buckaloons so she could learn to ski. No matter the job, she brought dedication, humor, and heart.

But her most cherished role was caring for her grandchildren. She was happiest surrounded by family.

Phyllis enjoyed bowling, golfing, skiing, mowing the lawn (which she considered a sport), and spending Saturday and Sunday evenings at Stateline or Eriez “Eatin’ Dirt.” She enjoyed the 10 years she spent in Florida, after her husband passed, with many cherished friends. She loved gathering with friends for Monday Funday or Wednesday wing nights at the Cabins. She had a gift for making anything look new with a fresh coat of paint and a little elbow grease.

Phyllis will be remembered for her strength, independence, humor, and the deep love she had for her family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the laughter, traditions, and strong spirit of those who knew and loved her.

Her final resting place will be with her husband in the Lottsville Cemetery. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Phyllis’s name to Lottsville United Methodist Church, 71 Lottsville-Niobe Road, Bear Lake, PA 16402 or Good Samaritan Hospice, 116 Browns Hill Rd, Valencia, PA 16059.

The Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, in Youngsville, has been entrusted with all arrangements. Condolences to the family may be made at nelsonfuneralhome.net.
