Mary Jane Gastol Kelsey

She was born in Jamestown Nov. 8, 1947, a daughter of the late Victor and Bernice Waterman Gastol. A 1965 graduate of Panama Central School, Mary Jane attended Jamestown Community College, Utica College, the University of Florida and Eckard College, majoring in Health Care Administration.

She served for over 40 years as the Licensed Nursing Home Administrator at facilities in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida, and began her health care career as personnel director at the former Fenton Park Nursing Home in Jamestown.

Mary Jane is survived by her two sons, James (Pam) Kelsey of Lakewood, NY and Matthew Kelsey of Plattsburgh, NY; a grandson, Luke Kelsey; sister, Helen (Ray) Adams of Ashville, NY; brothers, John (Linda) Gastol of California and Peter (Mary) Gastol of Texas; sister-in-law, Marsha Gastol of Lakewood; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Gastol.

As per Mary’s request, no service or visitation will be observed. Her family will have a private celebration of her life.
