Linda Taylor
Linda Taylor
Linda Taylor, 80, of Jamestown, passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born Jan. 4, 1946, a daughter of the late Chester and Lillian Taylor.
Some of Linda’s greatest accomplishments include her four children, one of whom, Dawn Weatherbee, was born 1lb. 8oz and was told she wouldn’t survive. Through the power of prayer, her daughter went on for 55 years, succumbing to Epidermolysis Bullosa in April of 2025. Linda was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Taylor and a sister, Ruthann Southwick.
Linda’s surviving children are Scott Lawson of Jamestown, Janel (Jeff) Warner of Tennessee, and Jamie (Aaron) Hamm of Falconer; grandchildren: Julianne, Rebecca, Bryce, Nolan, Collin, and Joshua; great-grandchildren: Jaxson and Aliyah; and her siblings: Chester (Gladys) Taylor, Charlie (Anna) Taylor, and Orville (Sharon) Taylor.
Linda worked her first job as a “tray girl” at the former Jamestown General Hospital. She then worked directly on the floor with nurses and became a nurse’s aide. Her devout experience allowed her to become a Practical Nurse. Over her working career she could not maintain her licensure when that became an issue but then worked as a medication aide in various facilities until her retirement. Her family constantly reminded her, even during her last days, “Once a nurse, always a nurse”.
Linda had also worked at Truck-Lite in Falconer for nine years and was an active member of Pastor Myrna Lehman’s Living Word Tabernacle church.
Linda’s passions included caring for her patients deeply in nursing, her grandkids and great-grandkids, motorcycling, shopping, and her beloved animals.
Special thanks to Dr. Robert Bailey and Nurse Tabitha and all the UPMC Hamot teams. A special place will always be held by her family for Dr. Orlando, Dr. Maholik, Dr. Good, Dr. Hyde, and Ariana (Cardiovascular Team).
No service or visitation will be observed. The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
Please direct any memorial donations to Chautauqua County Humane Society, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or Epidermolysis Bullosa Research. To share condolences, please visit www.lindfuneralhome.com.
