James J. “JJ” Pike

James J. “JJ” Pike, 68, of Jamestown passed away Sunday, Feb. 1, due to ill health over the past three months.

He was born May 30, 1957 in Jamestown, the son of James M. Pike and Bonnie L. Christianson Rosengren.

JJ was a 1976 graduate of Falconer High School. During his high school career, he was a member of the Golden Falcons Football Team, and Golden Falcons Wrestling of which he had an undefeated record.

In earlier years, JJ was employed by Jamestown Container and bartended at the Old Cellar and Ships Inn.

He was a member of the Celoron Post 777, Sons of American Legion and Chautauqua Fisherman’s Club. JJ enjoyed his family, music, especially the Beatles and fishing with cousins. Other sports he enjoyed playing in his older years were softball, bowling and playing in pool leagues.

Surviving is his daughter, Hannah Daniels of Buffalo; his granddaughter, Madison White; his sister, Jody Bevacqua of Jamestown; his brother, Randall (Randy) Pike of Alabama; his nephew, Joshua (Sarah) Pike; great niece, Anna Pike, great nephew, Joe, and several nieces and nephews. JJ is also survived by his three step siblings: Don (Judy) Crandall, Dan (Pam) Crandall, Max (Stacy) Crandall.

He will be missed by his dogs, Atticus, Cassie, and little puppy Eddie.

He was preceded in death by his father, James M. Pike and step mother, Thelma Pike; his mother, Bonnie L. Rosengren, and step father, Bob Rosengren; his brother-in-law, John Bevacqua; step-brother, Bobby Rosengren Jr.; his paternal grandparents, Melvin and Peg Pike; his maternal grandparents, Earl and Esther Christianson; and his step sister, Kathy Bailey.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Herdzik pastor of New Beginnings Church will officiate.

Friends will be received by the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
