Christine J. Kaltenbach
Christine J. Kaltenbach, 76, of Cuba, NY passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2026 in her home surrounded by loved ones after battling cancer.
Chris was born Jan. 6, 1950 in Jamestown, NY to Phyllis Velma Smith Overturf and Wallace Overturf. She was one of nine siblings.
She attended Falconer Central School until the 8th grade, then went on to join the workforce. She worked at American as a packer, then Fancher Chair as a packer, then moved on to become a family care provider for over 40 years.
Chris was passionate about horses and loved riding with her girls, Patti and Tracy. Black and White paint horses were her favorite. She passed her love of horses and riding onto both of her daughters and granddaughters. She also enjoyed fishing, cooking, and baking. Those of which she did not pass on to her girls, AKA Tracy. (Tracy does not like to cook or bake.) Patti enjoyed canning and baking with her.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Phyllis and Wallace Overturf, her infant son, Fredrick Kaltenbach; sisters, Maxine (Lawrence “Stub”) Brown, Carolyn (Lawrence) Shutters; and her brothers, Gordon (Deloris) Overturf, Gary (Ethel) Overturf, Melvin Overturf and Wallace Overturf.
Chris is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Fredrick Kaltenbach, whom she married Aug. 16, 1975; a sister, Donna (Tom) Feldman; a brother, Roger (Kennylynn) Overturf; four children: her son, George (Betty) Williams; daughters: Patti Kaltenbach and Tracy (Brian) Wilson; and son, Matt (Amie) Kaltenbach. Six grandchildren: Jed Williams, Jacob Chamberlin, Sierra Wilson, Savanna Wilson, Gavin Krist, Autumn Kaltenbach; two great -grandsons: Ezio Williams and McCoy Herbert; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Christine’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28 in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Trenchard will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
