Brian N. Patterso

He was born Sept. 7, 1959, in Olean, a son of the late Nelson Patterson and Delores Shaw Patterson Coats.

While living in Florida, Brian was employed by Sea Dog Brewing Company, St. Petersburg. He had also worked as a painter for various companies.

He loved spending time on the beaches and watching the sunsets on the Gulf Coast where he has lived with his wife Sherry for many years. He enjoyed boating and fishing. He also enjoyed listening to the band Journey, which Sherry shared is their favorite band. Brian also enjoyed listening to the bands Rush, Led Zeppelin, Supertramp, Jimmy Buffet and Bob Marley. More than anything he was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills. Go Bills!

Surviving is his wife, Sherry Crostic Alexander, whom he married April 23, 2024; stepdaughter, Ashley Alexander (Adrian Garner); granddaughter, Hayden; and several other grandchildren; four sisters, Deborah (Robert) Westcott of Jamestown, Darlene (Kevin) Maier of Erie, Theresa (Edward) Nolder of Emporium, PA, and Tina (Randy) Felton of Busti; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Patterson and stepfather, Quentin Coats.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026 at Sacred Heart Church, 380 E. Fairmount Ave, Lakewood, NY 14750, with Father Paul Cygan officiating. A luncheon will be held in the Parish Center following the service.
