Dover — Arthur Lawrence “Larry” Jackson Jr., 80, of Dover, Delaware, formerly of Jamestown and South Valley, New York, passed away peacefully on Feb. 14, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on March 20, 1945, in Phillipsburg, Pennsylvania, Larry was the son of Arthur Lawrence Jackson and Anne Minarich Jackson and his stepmother Angeline Conti Jackson.
From an early age, he learned the value of hard work, loyalty, and family principles that guided him throughout his life. He always cherished his childhood memories in Grassflat, PA living with his beloved Aunt Olga Dahlgren and growing up with his life long best friend Steve Bunyak.
He was a graduate of Jamestown High School, Class of 1963, and was an active member of the reunion committee.
Larry spent 43 years in Jamestown, New York, and 22 years in South Valley, New York, before later residing in Dover, Delaware. He dedicated much of his life to the family business, A.G. Jackson Trucking, becoming President in 1985 upon his father’s retirement. Under his leadership, the company continued to grow and serve the community with integrity and pride.
In 1983, Larry purchased Jamestown Ice and Storage and successfully restored it into a thriving and respected business. He served as its President for 30 years before retiring in 2007. His vision, determination, and business acumen turned opportunity into lasting success, and he took great pride in what he built.
Larry was married to the love of his life and soulmate, Jackie Lynne Jackson (Thies), for 62 wonderful years. Together they built a life centered around love, commitment, and devotion to family.

Grandchildren: Andrew Apperson, Madeline Reale, Mallory Apperson, Kaitlyn Owen, Ethan Kersat, Mckenna Kersat, Briley Jackson, Axel Jackson, Dakoda Apperson, Austyn Jackson, Alessandra Jackson
Great-Grandchildren: Eli Apperson, Everly Owen, Charlotte Owen, River Apperson
He was preceded in death by his beloved siblings Robert Jackson and Anita Fox. He was survived by his esteemed brothers and sisters-in-law Dan Thies (Gracie), Michael Thies (Susan), and Patricia, and also survived by a sister Arline Hazenberg.
Above all, Larry had a heart of gold. He loved his family and friends deeply and was always willing to lend a hand or share what he had. He enjoyed gathering around good food, ice cold beers, cheering on his beloved Buffalo Bills, and shopping in search of the very best deals; a bargain well found was some- thing he was always proud of.
His strength, generosity, leadership, storytelling, and warmth will be remembered always!
