Steven J. Rodriguez

Steven J. Rodriguez

Steven J. Rodriguez, 63, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026 in UPMC Chautauqua surrounded by loving family.

He was born Dec. 24, 1962 in Jamestown, the son of Enrique “Chico” and Judy Babyak Rodriguez. He returned to this area after several years in Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.

He was a graduate of Jamestown High School and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving from 1984 to 1987.

Steve was retired from the HVAC industry and served as a Poll Site Coordinator for the Chautauqua Co. Board of Elections and handyman.

Steve’s clever sense of humor brought laughter to many. He was so good at manifesting the child within and brought it out in others. He enjoyed and shared simple marvels in fun travels with wife and close others and goaded some with his loyal support of the NY Yankees. He enjoyed card/game playing and was not above gloating (with a smile) over a win. Steve was old fashioned kind, patriotic and happy to help others.

Surviving is his wife, Angela Ricotta whom he married in 1986; his mother, Judy Rodriguez of Jamestown; two sisters: Lisa Rodriguez of Ashville, and Angie Rodriguez of North Tonawanda. His memory will live with a strong network of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Enrique “Chico” Rodriguez, a brother, Jamie Rodriguez and a sister Amy Rodriguez.

A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at 6 p.m. Friday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Adam Rohler will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be donated to Shriners Hospitals for Children or Chautauqua County Humane Society.
