Ronald Duane Adams, 85, of Elm Creek Road, Randolph, Town of Conewango, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2026, at UPMC Hamot Medical Center in Erie, PA, surrounded by his family.
He was born April 19, 1940, in Salamanca, NY, the son of the late Burton and Leona (Liskow) Adams.
Ron graduated as Salutatorian of the Little Valley High School Class of 1958. He was co-owner of Adams Lumber Company from 1962 to 2007, during which time a new mill was built on Adams Road in Cattaraugus in 1973. Ron was also the president of R&D Adams Dairy Farms LLC. He began farming in 1960 with 38 milking cows, and the operation has grown to over 5,000.
Ron and his family were awarded the NYS Dairy of Distinction. He served on the Conewango Town Board, the Conewango Watershed Authority, and was a member of the East Randolph Methodist Church. He enjoyed farming, mentoring the next generation, playing Rummy 500, eating anything his wife made, and most importantly spending time with loved ones.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Loretta (Berg) Adams, whom he married on July 1, 1960, at Little Valley Lutheran Church; two sons Duane Adams of San Diego, CA, and David Adams of Randolph; and daughter Diane Brady (Tim) of Glenview, IL; eight grandchildren–Brooke Langworthy, Lauren Wilcox, Brittany Iskula, Bryan and Bradley Adams, Ashley Adams, and Megan and Natalie Brady; and eleven great-grandchildren–Kinsley, Haven, and Dax Iskula; Austin, Dallas, Waylon, and Leeona Adams; Calvin Wilcox; McCoy Adams; and Sammy and Sebby Langworthy.
He is also survived by three brothers, Donald (Ella Mae) Adams of Cattaraugus, Dennis (Ann) Adams of Randolph, and Robert (Rene) Adams of Cattaraugus, and sister-in-law Kathy Adams, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, Burton, in 1979; his mother, Leona, in 2011; an infant brother, Burton Ronald Adams, in 1938; and a brother, Ken Adams, in 2017.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 1:00-3:00 PM and 5:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the East Randolph Methodist Church. Visitation will continue from 10:00-11:00 AM on Thursday, January 29 at the church, with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. Rev. Tim Middleton will officiate.
