Norma Jean Walker passed away on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026 at Heritage Park Health Care Center in Jamestown, New York at the age of 94. Born on April 30, 1931 in Jamestown, Norma was the daughter of the late Gus Edward and Edna Campbell Lindahl.
Norma worked for many years at WCA Hospital. After her retirement, she spent several more years providing in-home care to many special people including June Carlson, June Linbeck, and others. Norma loved assisting these women and their families, and was blessed to work with such caring people.
Some of Norma’s most enjoyable activities include crochet, travel, Bingo, and time spent with the members of Busti Church of God. She always expressed love for her Lord and Savior. Norma was a member of the Frewsburg American Legion Auxiliary, Busti Church of God Lampliters, Falconer Senior Center, Jamestown Senior Center, and the Senior Singles Club.
Norma is survived by granddaughters, Tina Lyon (Howie) and Julie Walker (Jody Osgood); daughter-in-law, Lori Walker; great-grandchildren, Addison Walker-Osgood, Hunter Lyon, and Heather Marnella (Paul). She is also survived by many beloved friends, step-children, step-grandchildren, and other beloved family members.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ira Walker, who she married on May 12, 1951 and who died on Jan. 2, 1981, and also by her second husband, Richard Roos, who she married on Nov. 27, 1987 and who died on Jan. 3, 2014. Norma was predeceased by her son, James I. Walker, her daughter, Joyce E. Skinner, her son-in-law, Gordie Skinner, her brothers, Carl Lindahl, Edward Lindahl, Jr., and Bruce Lindahl, and her sisters, Alberta Walter and Betty Barber.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Monday, Jan. 12, 2026 in Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Kennedy.
Friends will be received for one hour to the service 11a-12p on Monday in the funeral home.
