Max Edward Doverspike

Max Edward Doverspike, 80, of Jamestown passed away unexpectedly Thursday (January 8, 2026) in Tanglewood Manor.

He was born April 14, 1945 in New Bethlehem, PA, the son of the late Edward H. and Twila M. Riechard Doverspike.

Prior to retirement he was employed by Chautauqua County Highway Department. He had also worked at Midway Park helping to restore and maintain the Carousell.

Max enjoyed music and for 30 years was a drummer in several bands. He owned his own Ultra-Light Plane and was a flight instructor. Other hobbies Max enjoyed was woodworking, sewing, quilting, riding motorcycles, riding on his trike bike for the last two years around Chautauqua Lake with his friend Butch and family, model airplanes, and trains.

He is survived by a son Kurt Doverspike of Celoron; grandchildren: Abigail, Jared and Nicholas Doverspike all of Celoron; a brother Jay Doverspike of Jamestown; two sisters: Romona Nord of Jamestown, Kay Filegar of Oil City, PA and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Edward H. and Twila M. Doverspike; Siblings: June Geist, Shirley Barberstock, Lauriane Burkhouse, Charlotte Doverspike, Jack Doverspike, Carl Doverspike, and Jimmy Doverspike.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Dayle Keefer will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Friends will be received by the family from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Funeral Home.
