Louella M. Marsh
Louella M. “Lou” Marsh, 83, of Kennedy, passed away on Friday, Jan. 2, 2026 at Olean General Hospital.
She was born on April 14, 1942 in Cuba, NY, a daughter of the late Dean and Ella May Palmer Marsh.
Louella was salutatorian of her 1960 graduating class at Cuba Central School.
Louella’s faith was very important to her and began at a young age, wherever she lived she was involved in a church whether singing in the choir or teaching Sunday school. She had attended the Haskell Community Church in Cuba where she would marry her husband Joe, and after moving locally attended Ivory Baptist Church, Trinity Chapel, Calvary Baptist, Clarks Corners Community Church and most recently Koinonia Christian Fellowship.
She was also active in skiing, square dancing & the snowmobile club in the 70’s.
After high school, Louella worked at Eastman Kodak and after marrying and moving locally she was employed at the Frewsburg Central School library. Prior to retirement, she was employed at Truck-Lite Co for over 30 years.
She will be remembered for her strong faith and love for both her family and church family.
Louella is survived by her husband, Joseph F. “Joe” Marsh, whom she married in 1963; a son, Nathan (Christina) Marsh of Kennedy; a daughter, Kimberly (David) Elderkin of Frewsburg; eight grandchildren: Dylan Marsh, Dalton (Diana) Marsh, Dallas Marsh, Drake Marsh, Kyle Elderkin, Alex Elderkin, Alisha Elderkin, Zoey Elderkin; three great-grandchildren: Noah Green, Owen Elderkin, Lilyana Elderkin; three siblings: Irving Marsh, Janet (Richard) Osgood, and Nancy Champlin; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell and George Marsh.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026 in Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg. Pastor Ronald Lemon and Louella’s brother-in-law retired Pastor Gary Peterson will officiate.
Burial will be in Ivory Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 5-7 pm on Wednesday and for one hour prior (10-11 am) to the service on Thursday in the funeral home.
