Larry W. Houghwot, 76, of Frewsburg, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026, in UPMC Chautauqua.
He was born Dec. 9, 1949, in Jamestown, the son of the late Harold and Edna (Houghwot) Bennett.
Larry attended Frewsburg Central School and was an Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War as an Ammunition Storage Specialist.
He was a former employee of Truck Lite, Maddox Table and Montagna’s.
Larry was an avid car enthusiast and collected diecast cars. His greatest enjoyment was watching old western movies.
He was a member of the War Vets in Jamestown and Samuel Derby Post 556 American Legion in Frewsburg.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Loury Houghwot, his maternal grandparents Merle and Lois Houghwot, paternal grandparents, Clifford and Reba Bennett and longtime companion Patricia Krieg. Larry is survived by his daughter, Tammy Lynn Ingerson of South Valley, NY; two sisters, Reba Bennett of Frewsburg, Verna Cline of Kinston, NC; and a brother, Harold Bennett Jr of Frewsburg. Also surviving are four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; three step-children: Shannon Case of Dunkirk, Chris Smith of Kiantone, and Nathan Smith of Frewsburg; and 11 step-grandchildren.
As per his request no visitation or funeral will be observed. A family gathering will be announced at a later date. Burial will be in Fentonville Cemetery.
Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg is in charge of arrangements.
