Karen Marie Dunnewold
Karen Marie Dunnewold
Karen Marie Dunnewold, 84, of Clymer, NY, passed away on Jan. 21, 2026.
She was born June 24, 1941, to the late Edward F. and Emma Jacobi, in Williamsville, NY. Karen graduated from Williamsville High School and was employed at Marsh & McLennan Insurance in Buffalo where she leveraged her excellent typing and shorthand skills as a secretary.
Karen met the love of her life, Roger Dunnewold, at a wedding in Williamsville, NY. After a period of long-distance dating, the two married on Sept. 2, 1961. They moved to Clymer and spent 64 years building a life and legacy worth admiring.
Karen was a member of the Abbe Reformed Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She kept the books for the family dairy farm. She enjoyed walking, reading, crossword puzzles, and baking her famous chocolate chip cookies. Karen enjoyed traveling with their closest friends, Phil and Sharon Haendiges, and had fond memories of many trips to Florida and out west. Later in life, she found comfort watching her Hallmark movies and taking care of any stray cat that found its way to her.
Karen was blessed with a large family and was the beating heart of it. Every birthday party, holiday, and special occasion were made more meaningful by “Grandma Karen’s” love and care.
She is survived by her husband, Roger, her four children, Jeffrey (MaryBeth) Dunnewold, of Cicero, NY, Cheryl (Mark) Honey, Eric (Anndrea) Dunnewold, and Darrell (Marie) Dunnewold all of Clymer; her eleven grandchildren, Daren (Eliza) Dunnewold, Jared (Abby) Dunnewold, Adam (Ashley) Honey, Jason Dunnewold, Lauren Dunnewold, Kate (Lincoln) Mimidis, Alex Dunnewold, Karlen (Dylan) Farnsworth, Ian Dunnewold, Lucas Dunnewold, Maiya Dunnewold; and three great-grandchildren, Avery, Parker, and Evelyn.
Karen was predeceased by her sister, Shirley (late Richard) Sattelberg and her brother, Edward C. Jacobi (late Barbara Cummins).
