John L. Anderson

John L. Anderson, age 83, passed away peacefully on Dec. 26, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. John was born on Sept. 13, 1942, in Jamestown, New York. He was preceded in death by his parents, Les and Carolyn Jones Anderson, and his daughter, Lorrie Ostrander.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Rowe Anderson; his daughter, Lisa Zingale; his brother, Jim Anderson, and his wife, Amy Pitt; his sisters, Mary Radack and her husband, Mike, and their daughter, Emily, and Martha Nelson and her husband, Arnie. He is also survived by his granddaughters, Allison Beasley Zingale and her husband, Brett; Kimberly Stevenson and her husband, Blake; and his cherished great-granddaughter, Kylie Stevenson.

John spent his early years in Pennsylvania before returning to Jamestown in 1955. He graduated from Jamestown High School in 1960. During his high school years, he worked at Art Gren Budweiser and Barmore-Sellstrom, developing the strong work ethic that would define his life. After graduation, John drove a cement mixer for Walter Rowan Concrete and later worked for Scalise Brothers, Ludwig, and Clayton Anderson. In 1978, he began his own concrete and masonry business, which he operated with pride until his retirement in 2006.

Later in life, John and Linda moved to Mesa, Arizona, to be closer to their daughter Lisa and his granddaughters. He enjoyed spending his time visiting the casino, gardening, especially growing tomatoes–and crafting wooden toys for those he loved.

John was an exceptionally talented artist and craftsman, an avid gardener, and a devoted history buff. He will be remembered for his creativity, dedication, and quiet strength. John will be deeply missed and always lovingly remembered by his family and all who knew him.
