Beth A. Bundy

Beth A. Bundy, 78, of Jamestown, passed away at UPMC Chautauqua on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026. She was born in Jamestown on Feb. 26, 1947, to the late Jack DeLong and M. Claire Ackerman Messenger.

Beth’s life was characterized by caring for others. She was a dedicated family care provider through Buffalo Psychiatric Hospital, nurturing the well-being of hundreds of hearts out of her home for 35 years. Her compassion provided countless experiences of Christmas morning magic for those who otherwise did not have families with which to celebrate. To know Beth was to understand her love for her job with every fiber of her being.

Laughter filled Beth’s days and relationships. Her fun-loving zest will not soon be forgotten by her children, Robert Todd (Cinzia) Bundy, Jill (Chris) Allenson, Timothy (Maryjo) Bundy, and Jamie J. (Jennifer) Bundy; her grandchildren, Jessica (Nick) Vangel, Tyler Allenson, Nicholas (Haley) Allenson; her step-grandchildren, Samantha Meier and Tommy Fortune; her great-grandchildren, Emily Vangel, Ava Vangel, and Lily Allenson; her siblings, Cindy (Douglas) Penhollow and Jerry (Ruth) DeLong; as well as many nieces and nephews by whom she was adored.

Besides her parents, Beth was preceded in death by her husband, Robert K. Bundy, Jr. whom she married Sept. 18, 1965, and who passed away June 5, 2015; her sister, Cheryl Stewart in 2025; and her brother, Michael “Mickey” Myers in 1949; and her cherished dogs, Ming Ming, Coco, and Baby.

The funeral service for Beth will be at 1 pm Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, at Lind Funeral Home. Beth’s brother-in-law, Rev. Douglas Penhollow, will officiate. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation for two hours prior to the service from 11-1 pm Monday at Lind’s.

Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Following the graveside committal service, there will be a gathering for family and friends at the Eagles Club of Jamestown.

The family gratefully declines flowers. Instead, donations in Beth’s memory may be made to an animal shelter of one’s choosing.
