William J. “Bill” Canby
William J. “Bill” Canby, 60, of Jamestown, passed away at Buffalo General Hospital on Thursday, Dec. 25, 2025. He was born in Jamestown on Feb. 2, 1965, to the late E. William Quist and Janet Pedersen Canby.
Bill worked at Jamestown Cycle Shop for over 30 years, fostering thousands of relationships with the local community. He also owned his own woodworking business, Wiljen Woodworks and most recently was the parts manager at Sensible Auto in Fredonia, NY.
Bill will be deeply missed by his children, Matthew (Natasha) Canby of Jamestown, NY and Jessica (Reid) Parsons of Rochester, NY; his grandchildren, Mason, Jonathan, Josephine and Allison; his sister, Amy (Steve) Lake; his lifelong best friend, Ron Lord; as well as his longtime companion, Jennifer Stafford.
Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his stepfather, Kenneth Canby.
No formal visitation or services will be held at this time. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
