Terrance Jay Lanning

Terry was born on Feb. 4, 1946 in Elmira, NY to Edwin and Doris Lanning. Growing up in Jamestown, NY, Terry thrived both socially and academically. Terry graduated from Jamestown High School in 1964 and continued his education on a full scholarship at Syracuse University where he majored in Broadcast Communications.

Terry started his career path at Channel 9 News in Syracuse NY as a reporter and photojournalist. The following years were spent working in corporate communications at General Electric, Clark, Sandvik and MCI. Later, Terry proudly started his own business, Corporate Partners while living in Franklin, Massachusetts and Lanning Communications while in Wesley Chapel, Florida.

A self taught musician, Terry loved playing the guitar and singing. Whether it be playing in The Circle of Friends Coffeehouse while living in Franklin, MA or with The Survivors, a group he helped form while living in Wesley Chapel, Florida., Terry was happiest when surrounded by friends and music, as well as camping, cruising and enjoying an ice cold beer.

Terry is survived by his two daughters, Kari Lanning of Syracuse, NY and Jodie Lanning of West Chazy, NY and beloved dog, Joey. There will be no calling hours or services. In honor of Terry, please consider making a donation to The National Kidney Foundation or your local animal shelter.
