Norma J. Floccare

Norma J. Floccare, 87 of Lakewood, NY, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2025, at home surrounded by her family.

She is now lovingly reunited with her childhood sweetheart and husband, Dr. Anthony J. Floccare whom she married June 22, 1957 and who died Nov.18, 2014.

Norma was born in Jamestown on Aug. 29, 1938, the daughter of the late Selvio and Rose Sundie DePetro, and was a graduate of Jamestown High School and the Jamestown Community College School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse and worked for many years in the Blood Donation Program for the American Red Cross.

Norma was known for her warmth, kindness, and generosity. She will be remembered as a sweet, loving, and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend with a beautiful smile. She will also be remembered as a phenomenal cook, baker, and pianist.

Norma was passionate about music, nature, tennis, photography, the Buffalo Bills, the New York Yankees, and at the top of her list spending time with family. She had a gift for perfectly planning every family function with delicious food and fun activities.

Deeply committed to her faith and community, Norma was a member of St. James Church in Jamestown and earlier years Sacred Heart Church in Lakewood. She served as a Religious Education Teacher, church volunteer, Eucharistic Minister, as well as a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. In addition, she was a member of the Jamestown Concert Association, Little Theater of Jamestown, Women’s Club of Lakewood, enjoyed volunteering at the Audubon Community Nature Center as a nature guide, and had been active in Chautauqua Rails to Trails.

She is survived by her three children, Lisa (Scott) Cooper of Lakewood, Dr. Douglas (Terri) Floccare of Lutherville, MD and Andrew (Lesley) Floccare of Calabash, NC; eleven grandchildren: Lauren Floccare (Joe Gagnon), Rebecca Floccare (Tom Clark), Christopher Floccare (Jenn Smith), Michael (Meredith) Floccare, Joshua (Leila) Cooper, Chad (Meghan) Cooper, Nicole (Anthony) Cooper, Nicholas Cooper, Leah Floccare, Troy (Caitlin) Floccare, and Nate Floccare; and seven great-grandchildren: Lucy and Mitchell Clark, Jack, Emily, and Sam Gagnon, Marcello Cooper, and Rosemary Floccare. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband Anthony and parents, Norma was preceded in death by a brother, Arnold DePetro, Sr.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, January 4th in the Lind Funeral Home, where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 3:45 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, January 5th at St. James Church. The Rev. Paul Cygan will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
