Karen Mae Marsh Cave
Karen Mae Marsh Cave, 68 of Fredonia, passed away after a battle with cancer Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025 at home.
Born July 5, 1957 in Westfield a daughter of Geraldine Alexander Marsh and the late Carl Marsh.
Karen was a 1975 graduate of Cassadaga Valley Central School and then continued her education at JCC.
She was employed at Cassadaga Elementary School as a cafeteria monitor, M. Wile Co., Dunkirk, as a bartender at Henry’s Tavern, Cassadaga, J.W. Dill American Legion, Brocton and Cassadaga Memorial American Legion Posts, secretary at the Newman Center, Fredonia and later at the rectory at the Mayville R.C. Church, Chautauqua Opportunities, Inc., Mayville and retired in January of 2023 as an Account Clerk for Chautauqua County. She also was Manager of the Chautauqua County Fair for 10 years.
Karen was very active in numerous organizations and her community. She joined the Cassadaga Area Jayncees in 1975, where she held many offices including Local and District President. The Jaycee Women joined the Jaycees and Karen served as President of the Cassadaga Chapter, held state Chairmanships and offices and received many awards including Congress Women, Governorship and Jaycees highest honor USJCI Senatorship. Karen also served as President of the NYS JCI Senate. As a member of the National JCI Senate Karen held various Chairmanships during her many travels across the USA with her traveling Senate friends, Rox, Perk and Barb and visited over 45 states.
As an active community member, Karen was a member of the J.W. Dill American Legion Auxiliary. She currently loved camping at the Stockton Firemen’s Grounds and was a big part of that community active with fund raising and dinners at the grounds. She loved going to casinos all over the country, cooking, Not Baking! (LOL), and will be remembered as the life of the party no matter where she was.
Wife of 40 years to Tim, who she married June 1, 1985; mother of Matthew and Zach Cave all of Fredonia; grandmother of, Ethan David Cave and Angelina Falco; sister of Cathy Marsh (Bill) Cornell of MI and Tom (Natalie) Marsh of Jamestown. Also survived by nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Karen’s life will be held on July 5, 2026 at the Brocton Legion Grounds. Time to be announced.
