Jean L. Robbins
Jean Louise Robbins, 85, of Jamestown went to be with her Lord and Savior and was welcomed into Heaven on Friday, Nov. 28, 2025 at home with her family by her side.
A lifelong area resident she was born Oct. 11, 1940 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Roy and Elsie Carlson Pratt.
Jean attended Southwestern High School and in earlier years was employed by the former Carnahan’s Men’s Clothing Store. For Jean’s entire adult life, she was a dedicated homemaker, supportive wife, for her husband, children, and family.
Jean served alongside her husband Gordy while he pastored New Heights UMC, Pleasant Valley UMC and Falconer First Baptist Church. She enjoyed the fellowship of small group bible studies. Jean loved discussing the bible, praying with and for others and sharing the joys of being a faithful Christian.
Throughout her life, Jean also attended Hillcrest Baptist Church, Busti Federated Church, New Hope Church and most recently Conduit Church. Jean and Gordon served with The Navigators International for many years.
Surviving is her husband, Gordon L. Robbins, whom she married June 9, 1957, in Falconer, the love of her life and in her final months her primary care giver ; her three children: Craig L. Robbins (Robin Johnson) of Busti, Lory J. Hatfield of Ashville, Kim Louise Robbins of Germantown, NY; six grandchildren: Craig (Alissa) Robbins, Brian Truax II, Paul (Shailyn) Robbins, Kimberly J. (Mitch) Hardin, Matthew (Megan) Robbins, Ashley (Ray) McAdoo, and nine great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Walter, and Bobby Pratt.
The Robbins family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care for the care Jean and the family received during her illness.
A Celebration of Jean’s Life will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday in Conduit Church, 120 Delaware Ave., Jamestown, NY. Rev. Cameron Lienhart will officiate. Inurnment will be in Busti Cemetery at a later date.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday in Conduit Church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be donated to The Navigators U.S. Headquarters, P.O. Box 6000, Colorado Springs, CO 80394-6000 and/or Conduit Church Jamestown New York.
