James R. Mortimer

1957-2025

James R. Mortimer, 68, of Jamestown, died Sunday Nov. 30, 2025, in UPMC Chautauqua.

A lifelong Jamestown resident, he was born Oct. 15, 1957, a son of the late Russell and Alice Swanson Mortimer.

He was a 1976 graduate of Jamestown High School and then went on to be employed by Weber Knapp for over 45 years.

Jim was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, attending the West Jamestown congregation. He loved the outdoors and showed it by snow skiing, rock climbing or putting thousands of miles on his bicycle.

Surviving are three siblings, Emily Mortimer, Helen Fisher and Gerald Mortimer all of Jamestown; niece, Erin Olmstead; nephews Eric (Marisa) Fisher and Michael; and seven great-nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 11 am Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, in the Lind Funeral Home. A livestream of the service will begin at 10:45 am Saturday at lindfuneralhome.com.

Friends will be received from 4-6 pm Friday.

Burial will be in Allen Cemetery.
