Dorothy V. “Dodie” Painter, 52, of Lakewood, NY, passed away Dec. 20, 2025, in Lakewood.

Born Sept. 1, 1973, in Jamestown, NY, she was a graduate of Southwestern Central High School. Dodie lived life on her own terms and was a true free spirit, known for her big heart and kind soul. She was not only a devoted mother to her children, but a mother to many, offering love and guidance to all who knew her. She loved being a grandmother to her only grandchild, Elijah.

She is survived by her children, Rick (Ann), Chloe, and Rylie; her grandchild, Elijah; and her siblings, Steven Painter, Robin Painter, Rob (Patty) Mitchell, and Chris Overturf.

Arrangements entrusted to Ricardi’s Hubert Funeral Home.

A celebration of Dodie’s life will be held Jan. 3, 2026, from 2-6 p.m. at the Log Cabin in Celeron. Friends and family are invited to attend and share memories.
