Bryan P. Dahlberg
Beloved former Village of Bemus Point Mayor,
- Bryan P. Dahlberg
Following his graduation from Jamestown High School, Bryan joined the US Army where he served in Vietnam as a Specialist 5th Class in an Assault Helicopter Battalion. Bryan returned to his hometown after honorable discharge and was employed by Sears, Roebuck & Co. for over 30 years.
Bryan had a deep affection for the Village of Bemus Point. His strong relationships within the community, which were formed over many years, brought him a great sense of pride. He was the longest seated mayor at 24 remarkable years. He was instrumental in leading the Village Renewal Project and implemented many other projects in the renewed streetscape of Bemus Point. Bryan was the longtime president of the Chautauqua County Association of Mayors. He was a member of the Bemus Point Volunteer Fire Department for over 50 years and served as past fire chief.
He was a charter member and trustee of the Bemus Point VFW Post 557. His acts of service extended into assisting the Town of Ellery on the Assessment Review Board. Numerous Chautauqua Lake improvement committees knew Bryan as an indispensable asset.
Bryan was deeply devoted to his family and his many friends. He will truly be missed by his daughter, Jody (Peter II) Conley of Lakewood; his son, Joel (Jillian) Dahlberg of Bemus Point; his grandchildren, Brynne, Peter III, and Anna Conley, Tucker Fenton, Aiden and Case Dahlberg; his sister, Joanne Adams; his Shepard brothers-in-law and their families; as well as his dear friend, Stacey Zetterlund.

Besides his parents, Bryan was preceded in death by the love of his life, Ann Shephard Dahlberg, whom he married Feb. 14, 1970, and who passed away Feb. 18, 2017. He was also preceded in death by an infant son and by his sister, Arlene Dahlberg.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 3-7 pm Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, at Lind Funeral Home. The funeral service for Bryan will be at 11 am Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026, at Bemus Point Methodist Church. Burial will be in Bemus Point Cemetery.
