Mary K. Petsch

Mary Kay Petsch, 69, of Frewsburg, New York, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025 surrounded by her son and loved ones in UPMC Chautauqua following a short, private battle with cancer.

A lifelong resident of Chautauqua County, she was born on July 6, 1956 in Jamestown, New York, the daughter of the late Joseph Harrison Overend, Jr. and Betty Joanne Seastedt Overend.

Mary was a 1974 graduate of Falconer Central School.

For thirty-three years, she was employed at Truck-Lite Co. in Falconer, New York, where she met many life-long friends. It was also there that she met Harry C. Petsch, whom she would marry in 1982.

She attended Levant Wesleyan Church and Fluvanna Community Church before making Frewsburg Alliance Church her home. She was a member of Frewsburg Alliance Church for many years, eventually serving as a deaconess.

She loved sewing and crocheting throughout her life and, following her retirement, became active in several community service-minded guilds such as the Sparrow’s Nest. She loved traveling with her friends and family in the Just For Fun Tours Group, and she was also a founding member of the Frewsburg Senior’s Group.

She is survived by her son, Jason A. Petsch, and many loving cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Her family and friends are welcome to join together to celebrate the life of this very special lady at a memorial service to be held on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025 at Frewsburg Alliance Church. The family will begin receiving visitors at the church at 11 am, and the service will begin at 12 pm. Pastor Mark Samworth will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery next to her parents.
