Korwin W. Butman

Korwin W. Butman

Korwin W. “Kory” Butman, 63, of Jamestown, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, Nov. 17, 2025, at UPMC Hamot. He was born in California on April 23, 1962, to the late Wayne and Barbara Hirth Butman.

Kory led his life with a big heart. A proud veteran serving in the U.S. Navy and in the Reserves, he had endless compassion for animals that cascaded into the spirits of his beloved children.

Still a working man, Kory was an inspector at SKF for 35 years. He fancied classical music, especially works by Chopin. Going for rides pleased him, as did restaurant adventures with his “foodie” taste buds. Kory also took great interest in classic cars of various models.

The top-notch humor Kory possessed will be an attribute not soon forgotten by his longtime partner, Charlotte Johnson; his children, Ashley (Jordan) Butman, Erin (Blake) Butman, Nick Butman, and Josh (Samantha) Jackson (formerly Bush-Butman); as well as his sister, Lori (Tim) Kerbs.

Besides his parents, Kory was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Butman, and his best buddy, his dog Charles Bartholomew, “Charlie.”

In keeping with his wishes, no public visitation or service will be held. Private burial will be in Valley View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701, or to WNY Heroes, Inc. supporting Western New York Veterans, 1001 East Delevan Suite 9, Buffalo, NY 14215.
