John A. Francisco

John A. Francisco

John A. Francisco, 63, of Nutt Road, Busti, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

Born December 3, 1961, in the Jamestown area, John was the son of the late Alfred W. “Bud” Francisco and Aldine Josephson Francisco. A proud graduate of Southwestern Central School, Class of 1980, he was active in football and track during his high school years.

John began his working life at TE Excavating during and shortly after high school. Following his father’s passing in 1983, he joined his mother in running the family business, Francisco’s General Store in Busti. He later worked for Bud Ericson Sales & Service before concluding his career with the Busti Highway Department.

A lifelong enthusiast of motorsports, John shared countless memories with his brother James, enjoying everything from race cars and tractor pulls to go-karts. His love for trains was equally strong – model railroading became his passion in retirement. He was a proud member of Division 12 of the National Model Railroad Association and carried on a family tradition as a third-generation, 46-year life member of the Busti Fire Department.

John is survived by his brothers, James Francisco (fiancée Tera Darts) of Busti, Bob Swanson (Lauralee) of Kennedy, Doug and Bill Francisco of Connecticut; sisters, Constance Warfield of Texas and Donna Culle; along with many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

A celebration of John’s life will be held on Saturday, November 29, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Busti Fire Hall.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Busti Volunteer Fire Department, 886 Mill Rd., Jamestown, NY 14701.
