It is with great sadness that the family of Howard McMullin, 87, announce his death on Nov. 12, 2025, in Clymer, NY. He passed away peacefully in his home.
Howard was born on Sept. 15,1938 in Philadelphia, PA to Teresa and Howard McMullin. He was one of five children. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and teacher for over 30 years. Howard, or Coach Mac, as he was often called, was a mentor to many and known for his friendship and kindness to all who crossed his path. He was a football coach for 42 years, as well as a track and field and modified basketball coach who stayed in touch with many of his players over the years, coaching multiple generations of young men.
Howard married Sally Crowell on Aug. 11, 1962. They were married for 52 years and shared much love and joy throughout the years. He was an active member of his community until the end.
He is survived by his brothers, Dave (Kathy), Bill (Robin), sister, Terri; children, Michael, Lisa and Leanne; his daughter-in-law, Darlene and son-in-law, Daniel; grandchildren, Brianna, Patrick (Carson), Ryan, Lucas, Finnian and Cora; great grandchildren, Addison, Lilyanna, and Archer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally, brother, Thomas and sister-in-law, Isabel.
A celebration of life will be held at Clymer Central School gymnasium on Sunday, Nov. 23 beginning at 2 PM (wear your Clymer Pirate gear). A mass will be held on Monday, November 24th at 11 AM at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Corry, PA. A luncheon will immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Clymer Fire Department, Clymer French Creek Library or the National Parks Conservation Association. Perform an act of kindness in his honor or start a conversation with a random stranger and always remember how lucky he felt to have known each and every one of you.
