Cheryl A. Collins, 71, of Jamestown passed away Monday, Nov. 17, 2025 in her home with her husband by her side after a long battle with multiple sclerosis (MS).
A lifelong area resident, Cheryl was born Sept. 2, 1954 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Wallace and Delmarie Carlson Wickmark.
Cheryl was a graduate of Cassadaga Valley High School and served as class president. She was also a graduate of Jamestown Community College, and SUNY Fredonia. In earlier years, she was employed by Heritage Village, WCA Hospital and Kirkland Nursing Home in Seattle, WA. After moving back to Jamestown, she was employed by Children’s Place Daycare and served as a substitute teacher for Jamestown Public Schools.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, painting, skiing, listening to music and playing the piano. In earlier years, Cheryl was elected as the Gerry Rodeo Queen. She had also served as a Cub Scout Leader in Jamestown.
Surviving is her husband, John F. Collins Jr. whom she married July 10, 1976, in Bethel Lutheran Church; three children: Kimberly A. Collins of Cranberry, PA; Taylor J. (Betsy) Collins of Pittsburgh, PA, Theo A. (Emily) Collins of Trappe, PA; four grandchildren, Juliana, Nora, Olivia, and Avery Collins; her brother, Steven T. (Nancy) Wickmark of Cassadaga; and a brother-in-law, Mark Collins of Jamestown.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jeffrey Wickmark, in 2014.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Cathy Smith chaplain of Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received by the family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
