Robert S. “Bob” Williams, Sr., 89 of Jamestown, passed away Oct. 19, 2025.

Born Sept. 8, 1936 in Jamestown a son of the late Kenneth and Shirley Chapman Williams. He was a 1954 graduate of Cassadaga Valley Central School.

Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving at the Nike Army base, Buffalo from 1958-1964 and a life member of AMVETS, American Legion and Vietnam Veteran of America.

He was employed for 37 years as a machinist/Inspector for MRC/SKF, Falconer.

Brother Robert S. Williams was made a Mason on April 15, 1963 at Sylvan Lodge #303, Sinclairville, elected Master 2001-2003 and Secretary for many years most recently serving as a Trustee, Success Coach, and Chairman of the Lodge Brotherhood Fund. He was also a member of the Justice Robert H. Jackson Lodge of Research #9010, Jamestown and active in various Masonic Concordant and Appendant bodies including the MOVPER Grotto and Shriners International. He helped transport children in need to various Shriner Hospitals and supported Grotto’s Humanitarian Foundation providing dental care for special needs children.

Brother Williams held the values of Freemasonry very near and dear to his heart and imparted them onto those he met in an effort to improve civility, respect, love and compassion.

Bob was proud of being a volunteer with the American Cancer Society for many years and was honored with the Lifetime Advocacy Award on April 29, 2025, for his work which included driving cancer patients for over 600 trips from Chautauqua County to Roswell Park which totaled more than six trips around the world with the “Road to Recovery” program.

Husband of 53 years to the late Jacquelyn Johnson Williams, who he married Sept. 5, 1959 and who died Feb. 19, 2012; father of Laurie (Steave) Wappat, Robert S. Williams, Jr, Dawn (Darell) Gross and the late Michael and Jeffrey Williams; grandfather of six; great-grandfather of five; brother of Shirley Tadt and the late Kenneth Williams. Also survived by nieces and nephews.
