Robert Brown

Robert Brown, 86 of Jamestown passed away on Oct. 14, 2025, at UPMC Chautauqua. He was born on Dec. 8, 1938, in Jamestown, NY, a son of Jerome and Edna Drake Brown.

After attending Jamestown High School, Robert enlisted and proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Aldebaran out of Norfolk, VA, during the Korean war. After his honorable discharge, Robert came back home and worked at National Worsted Mills, Automatic Voting Machine ,and Amsco Excel as a welder. Afte retiring from the factories, Robert went back to school, graduating from Gannon University with a nursing degree.

Robert married his wife of 54 years, Serene Caprino Brown in 1960, at St James RCC. Robert and Serene were communicants of ST James RCC their whole lives.

Robert was an EMT with the Kiantone Fire Dept. and a member of AA for 49 years where he mentored and sponsored countless people on their journey to sobriety. He loved baseball and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He will be deeply missed.

Robert is survived by his children: Anna (David) LaMantia, Debra (Ben) Session, and Robert J Brown Jr., his grandchildren: David Peter (Torri) LaMantia of Philadelphia, PA, and Nina (Dan) Currie of Ashville, and his great grandchildren: Leo Robert Currie, Bryce Edward Currie, and Sonya Marie LaMantia.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 17, 2025, from 4-8pm at Riccardi’s Hubert Funeral Home.
