Frank L. Erickson

Frank L. Erickson

Frank Lewis Erickson, 89, of Williamsburg, VA, passed away peacefully at home on Aug. 19, 2025, with his loving family by his side. Frank was born in Jamestown, NY on Feb. 21, 1936 to the late Raymond and Estella Lewis Erickson. Frank married Lois Jean Burnett and together they raised their family in Jamestown, NY.

Upon retiring from SKF, Frank and Lois moved to Sherman, NY where they built their dream home. Many beautiful and fulfilling years were spent in the country enjoying nature at family cookouts and campfires, while tending to the fruit trees, chickens and lush flower and vegetable gardens planted every year. Frank didn’t mind sharing the bounty with the critters and racoons that were frequent visitors. The grandchildren have fond memories of tapping Maple trees for syrup, tractor rides, roasting marshmallows around the campfire and of grandpa “always making things.” When Frank wasn’t outside in the barn or tending to whatever needed his attention (because there was nothing he couldn’t fix), he was often found in his woodworking shop making beautiful pieces of furniture for his daughters and grandsons. In 1970, Frank fulfilled a childhood dream of learning how to fly and received his pilot’s license.

Above all, Frank cherished his family. He never hesitated to tell his girls how much he loved them and how lucky he felt to live near them in his later years. His girls will cherish his sense of gratitude, sense of adventure, and are grateful for the skills and values he imparted.

Frank is survived by his wife, Lois, and four daughters: Vicki Erickson, Kelli Katz, Lisa Gasper, and Kim Grech. Also surviving are five grandsons, Eddie Gasper, Alex Gasper, Christian Grech, Jesse Katz, Will Katz; and siblings, John Edward Erickson (Dawn) and Joyce Hansen. In addition to his parents, Frank is preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Basile and brother, Leroy Erickson.

The family would like to thank very dear lifelong friends, Peggy and Paul Hayes who traveled to be at Frank’s side during his last days. Thanks for the decades of friendship and stories. The family is grateful for the love and support of friends, Christina and Peter Trump, whom Frank considered family and held very dear to his heart.
