Cynthia Hallquist Woodin, 76, of Kennedy passed away Thursday, (Sept. 25, 2025) in UPMC Hamot, Erie, PA.
A lifelong area resident she was born Oct. 2, 1948 in Jamestown the daughter of the late Merle and Kathryn Lord Hallquist.
Cindy was a 1966 graduate of Falconer High School, and in earlier years had been employed by Dahlstrom Manufacturing and Chautauqua County Health Department. She also served as the Town of Poland Clerk and Tax Collector for eight years. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Falconer Central School for 12 years.
Cindy enjoyed horses, and in earlier years was a rodeo barrel racer having competed at the Gerry Rodeo and several rodeos throughout New York State. She was a member of the Empire Barrel Racing Association for NYS Rodeos.
Cindy was an accomplished organist and pianist and played in the Town & Country Four Band, and Society. She was a member of the Kennedy United Methodist Church having served as church organist.
Cindy enjoyed spending time with her family and her pet cats.
She is survived by her husband, Lester Woodin whom she married Oct. 16, 1976; her son, Andrew (Ashley) Woodin of Falconer; grandchildren: Andrew L. Woodin, Alayna Woodin; a step grandchild, Katelyn Hosmer; a brother, Charles Hallquist of Lipan Texas.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Sharyn Wasiluk and a sister-in-law, Ginny Hallquist.
Her memorial service will be Wednesday, (Oct.15, 2025) at 1 p.m. in First United Methodist Church of Kennedy. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the church.
