Charles F. Halle Jr.

Charles F. “Chuck” Halle Jr., 86, of Stow, NY, and formerly of Warren, PA, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025, at UPMC Hospital in Jamestown, NY.

Born on Nov. 3, 1938, in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of the late Charles F. Halle Sr. and Edna Hite Halle. Chuck was a 1957 graduate of Warren High School and served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1963 stationed in the Korea as a radar technician monitoring the DMZ.

Following his military service, Chuck worked as a tool and die maker at Loranger Manufacturing in Warren, PA, retiring in 2001. During his time there, he was an active member of the Loranger Employee Association (LEA), where he served as president. Outside of work, he was also a member of the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club.

Chuck found joy in the simple pleasures of life–taking in the view of Chautauqua Lake from his porch, cheering on his favorite football and baseball teams. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and volunteered with the Boy Scouts and his children’s sports teams. Above all, Chuck cherished time spent with his family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Karen Rapp Halle, whom he married on July 16, 1966, in Warren, PA; his three children: Daniel Halle of Warren, PA; Kristen (Todd) Polechko of Pittsburgh, PA; and Beth (Kevin) Gern of Hershey, PA; and eight grandchildren: Gage and Emma Halle, Halle, Kate, Gavin, and Marin Polechko, and Carter and Ella Gern. He is also survived by two sisters, Nancy Smith and Debra (Fred) Nuhfer, both of Warren, PA, along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by three siblings: Anna Halle, Paulette Barrett, and Roger Halle.

A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held at the Lawson Center Boat Museum, 73 Lakeside Drive, Bemus Point 14712, From 5 pm until 7 pm on Oct. 25, 2025.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Stow Ferry (Bemus Point-Stow Ferry, PO Box 339, Bemus Point, NY 14712) or to a charity of one’s choice.
