Catherine M. Adams
Catherine Marina Adams, 89, of Lancaster, formerly of Clymer, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025, in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Buffalo.
She was born July 14, 1936, in Granville, NY, a daughter of the late Samuel and Anna Cavoretto Eppolito.
Marina was a woman of curiosity and generosity, always eager to hear the stories of those around her. She had a gift for asking thoughtful questions and sharing in the joy of a good laugh. Her caring nature shone through the small things–like selecting cards and gifts for her loved ones, just to let them know she was thinking of them. Marina cherished time spent with family and friends, especially over a good meal. Her love of ice cream became a sweet tradition her children continue, with visits to local shops that echo her delight in simple pleasures.
She served her community with dedication, acting as a parent representative for the special education program at Clymer Central and volunteering as a poll worker during elections. Her deep faith guided her, and she was actively involved in church life until relocating to the Buffalo, NY area.
In her later years, Marina found new joys– BINGO, cheering on the Buffalo Bills and tuning in to NASCAR races, embracing the excitement and camaraderie they brought.
Marina is survived by her loving family, including six daughters: Dianne (Robert) Witkowski of Victor, NY; Cynthia (Terence) Willis of Rochester, NY; Catherine Adams and Donna (James) Hedlund, both of Clymer; Sandra Caracciolo of Cheektowaga, NY; and Julie (Les) Meyer of Lancaster. She is also survived by her son, David Adams of Lakewood, NY.
Her legacy continues through 13 cherished grandchildren: Ana and Adam Witkowski; Anthone’, Amaya, Trent, Emma, Kylie, and Riley Willis; Samantha Hedlund; Renee and Joseph Caracciolo; and Megan and Hannah Meyer. Marina was also blessed with a great-grandson, Xzander, who brought her much joy.
She is further survived by her dear sister, Bettina Kopchick of Florida.
Marina was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Eugene Adams, with whom she shared a devoted marriage beginning on June 29, 1963. Their loving partnership spanned more than five decades until Eugene’s passing on Oct. 12, 2019. She was also predeceased by her beloved son, Robert Adams, who passed on Sept. 9, 2000; her brother and sister-in-law, John and Betsy Eppolito; and her brother-in-law, Nick Kopchick.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed. Burial will take place at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Clymer Hill Reformed Church, honoring Marina’s lifelong commitment to faith and community.
