Bruce W. Harris, 76, of Ashville, NY, passed away on Oct. 17, 2025 surrounded by his family.
He was born October 7th, 1949 in Jamestown, NY, to the late Paul W. Harris Sr. and Phyllis Ackroyd Harris.
Bruce served in the U.S. Navy from 1967 to 1971 aboard the USS Purdy. He was owner and operator of the family business, H&H Metal Specialty Inc. for many years, where he became vice president in 1995. Bruce and his wife were avid members of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and volunteered every chance they could.
Bruce met the love of his life, Susan, in 1983 and they married July 27, 1991 on their property in Ashville, NY. Over 42 years of memories have accumulated in the home they built together and where they lived happily ever after. They enjoyed bullhead fishing on Chautauqua Lake and porch sitting with their beloved animals in the woods. Together, they were inseparable.
He is a beloved husband, father, grandfather (Boppi), and friend. He always kept busy, whether he was woodworking, sketching/coloring, playing guitar, or outside doing yard work. He enjoyed golfing in his younger days. He loved hunting and fishing with his family and friends, especially fishing trips with Chuck Coleson, and Pat O’Brien. He will always be remembered for a lifetime of stories, baking the best brownies, and many hobbies he took interest in.
Surviving are his children; Shawn (Kimberly) Harris, Dawn (David) Hammond, and Carmen (Rae) Farrugello. His grandchildren; Leanne (Christopher) Carson, Riley Farrugello, Bailey Harris, and Kayla Harris. His great granddaughter; Nevaeh Carson. His brother; Barry (Anne) Harris. Multiple nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also leaving behind his beloved dog, Jessie.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Susan K. Harris, and his brother, Paul (Sue) Harris Jr, and nephew Thomas Harris.
A memorial service will be held at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in the chapel on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025 at 1 PM. The Pastor Rev. Luke Fudor will officiate.
