Richard McKean

By way of West Brookfield, Massachusetts, Rich was a brilliant business and salesman of over 30 years. He often donned a ball cap or beret, and had an uncanny ability to relate to people, and that, alongside his relentless work ethic, allowed him to close just about anything that was put in front of him, making him a perpetually valuable asset anywhere he chose to work.

A social butterfly at heart, Rich loved his job; truly, it was his hobby. Working until he was over 80 years old, Rich drove around the state meeting new people. He crossed paths with the most interesting folk from all walks of life and took parts of them with him in passing. A multi-talented man who enjoyed storytelling, carpentry, and cribbage, he of course adored his word games and TV time in his recliner at the end of the day.

He will be greatly missed by his surviving wife, Beth; son, David; and brother-in-law, Scooter; along with the rest of his wonderful extended family, friends, and old business acquaintances and clients whom he treated as family.

But most importantly, he was my Dad for over 27 years. Always an active participant in my life, driving me everywhere, and never missing a soccer game or anything else I was into. Frequently challenging me to games of cribbage, and watching football games with me, he loved spending time with me and other close family members. And, by hook or by crook, he’d help me solve any problems I had with the greatest of ease, regardless of topic. He was a true jack of all trades. Along with his presence and problem-solving abilities, I think I’ll miss the life stories and experiences he shared with me the most.

He was a great man and an even better father.

No public plans have been made for a funeral at this time, but all well wishes and good energy are felt by those close to Rich.
