Raymond Edward (Ed) Hughes was born Jan. 29, 1941, in Jamestown, NY to the late Raymond and Onnolee Rogerson Hughes. He Graduated from Jamestown High School in 1959 and attended JCC. He also served in the United States Air Force. After being honorably discharged in January 1964 and within weeks of returning to Jamestown, he was introduced to the love of his life, Carol. They were together 60 years. He was a manager at Anderson Precision in Jamestown for over 35 years.
Ed was an active member of the New Apostolic Church serving in different capacities until his retirement in 2005. Ed and Carol moved to Georgia where they continued an active life in the Atlanta congregation. Loving life together while traveling, dancing, and helping Carol with the lawn and garden until her passing in February 2024.
Ed was a pancreatic cancer survivor for over nine years. He is survived by a daughter, Wendy Devlin of Westfield, NY; a son, Daniel Hughes (Laura) of Macon; a sister, Barbara Erickson (Oliver) of Jamestown, NY; a brother, Craig Hughes (Barbara) of Lakewood, NY; Brother-in-Law, Kenneth Peterson of Florida. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and their families.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations may be made to donor’s favorite charity.
