Gene Brushaber
Gene Brushaber ,78, passed away peacefully in his sleep on a beautiful late summer morning. With the sun shining, his body was healed, and his pain was gone. He left behind Judy (Kosierb), his wife of 54 years, his daughter Melanie (Josh) Brushaber-Goulding whom he cherished, and three grandsons Kaden, Christopher, and Connor Gene, who were the light in his eyes. He never missed their games or performances and could always be found cheering them on at whatever they did. He also left behind many friends that were more like family.
Those that knew Gene, knew his tremendous love of music, especially but not limited to Jimmy Buffet and Elvis Presley. His best performance was his role as the lead singer in the Elvis trio that performed at his daughter’s wedding.
Despite not having too much luck, Gene loved fishing. He spent countless hours over the years fishing with his friends and family. He also loved to travel, with his favorite destination being “anywhere south where it’s warmer than here”. He also loved watching football and cheering for his favorite team, the Miami Dolphins.
Gene graduated from Fredonia High School with the class of 1966 and then graduated from Paul Smith’s college.
For all who would like to join his family and friends in his honor, please “flock” to their home at 4 pm for his Tiki After-Party on Saturday, Sept. 13.
All parrot heads are asked to wear Tiki attire, or brightly colored apparel.
