David Harry Thorp

David Harry Thorp, 80,of Orlando, Florida died Friday, Sept. 5, 2025,surrounded by the love of his family.

David was born May 8, 1945 in Westfield, New York to Harry Sinden Thorp and Marjorie (Rater) Thorp. He was raised in Ripley, NY on his parents’ dairy farm. He was in Ripley just a few weeks be fore his death tending to the farm he loved so much. His happy place is what his family called it.

David was married to the love his life, Linda (Hall) Thorp, for 54 years. Their marriage was built on loyalty, laughter, love, and unwavering devotion. Their bond was an inspiration to all who knew them.

He was a plant supervisor for the Inland Container Corporation in Orlando, FL for 33 years before his retirement. He was respected for his strong work ethic and commitment. Beyond work, David was known as a great friend, a helpful neighbor, and someone who could always be counted on. The most important thing to him in this world was his family. Family was at the heart of everything David did. He never missed a holiday, a birthday, or any special occasion, always showing up with love and support. His contagious laugh could light up a room, and his presence brought comfort, happiness, and strength to everyone around him.

David is survived by his wife Linda (Hall) Thorp; his children Traci (Dan) Phillips; his son David (Rachel) Thorp, four grandchildren Corey (Sarah) Phillips, Garrett (Catie) Phillips, Sage Thorp, Emma Phillips; six great-grandchildren; Aiden, Kinley, Owen, Addis on, Hunter, and Lincoln. Sister Barbra (Jim Witt man) Spacht of North East, PA. David was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson Chad Taylor Phillips.

David’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and selflessness. He will be dearly missed but forever remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing him.
