Daniel J. Davenport, born Feb. 25, 1943, passed away peacefully with his loved ones by his side on Sept. 4, 2025. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran who also served with the Lakewood Busti Police Reserves for years.
Daniel was an avid fisherman and hunter, always outside building, crafting, fixing something, or cutting firewood.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Elaine, of 55 years; two sons, Tom Davenport and Troy (Stacey) Davenport; a daughter, Trina (Jamie) Davenport; four grandchildren, Jessica (Nathan) Blakeslee, Tyler (Meghan) Simon, Cassandra (Levi) Sheldon, Derreck Davenport; three step grandchildren, Brooklynn, Jayden, and Karter; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Richard, and mother, Margret Davenport; two brothers, Gary and David (Carol) Davenport; a sister, Patricia (Gordy) Saulsgiver; a nephew, Brian Davenport; and a son, Tony Davenport.
His last gift is to be an organ donor and to help someone else in time of need.
The family will receive friends for memorial visitation from 12pm-4pm Monday, September 8, 2025, at Lind Funeral Home. A military honor service will be held at 3:30 pm at Lind’s.
